Privacy Policy

Life Calendar (Android and iOS) Last updated: October 12, 2026

This policy explains what data the Life Calendar app (“the app”) handles, where it is stored, and what is sent to third parties. The app is developed by Valeriy Golyshev, who is responsible for the processing described here (the “controller” under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR).

Summary

Data stored only on your device

The following data never leaves your device unless you export it yourself:

Photos you attach are copied into the app’s private storage. Deleting the app deletes all of this data.

Backups. When you export a backup, the app creates a file and lets you choose where to save or share it. We never receive these files. Importing a backup reads a file you pick and replaces the data on your device.

Reminders. The weekly reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. No push server is involved.

Data sent to Google Firebase

The app uses two Firebase services provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC.

Firebase Analytics receives:

The app does not collect advertising identifiers: their collection is turned off on Android, and on iOS the app does not ask for permission to track you.

Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports: the error and stack trace, device model, operating system and app version, an installation ID and the names of the screens opened before the crash.

Purpose and legal basis. We use this data to understand which features are useful and to find and fix crashes. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is pseudonymous: it is not linked to your name or contact details.

Retention. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the Firebase project (by default, user-level data for 2 months; aggregated reports may be kept longer). Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.

International transfers. Google may process this data in the United States. Google relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for such transfers. See the Firebase privacy information.

Versions of the app before 3.1 sent the full date of birth instead of the year. Since version 3.1 only the year is sent.

Permissions

Contacting us

If you write to us by email, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use them only to reply and keep them only as long as needed for that.

The app contains links to the app stores, to this policy and to a donation page operated by a third party (CloudTips). Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data about them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Because the data sent to Firebase is pseudonymous, we usually cannot identify which records belong to you. To exercise your rights, contact us and we will do what is technically possible. You can remove all data stored on your device at any time by deleting the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
